🌊 You’ve installed the device and want the data to be displayed on Hohonu’s web and mobile app
👓 You want to understand the different ways that you can access the data (widgets, CSV, API’s, etc)
🧽 You want to know what type of cleaning, post-processing, and analytics is performed on the data
First, you can use the Device Management Page (the same page to monitor battery voltage) to also check the raw output of the sensor.
Navigate to the bottom of the page and select “d2w” from the “Pick a variable” dropdown. “d2w” stands for distance to water. These measurements are what the sensor is detecting the nearest object is from itself.
If the sensor was installed to monitor tides, you should be able visualize a smooth tidal signal after a few days of monitoring.
<aside> 💡 If it seems like the “d2w” data isn’t what you would have expected it to be, reach out to Hohonu to help with troubleshooting: [email protected]

Once the device has been installed, use this form to register the device so that you can view the data in real-time: Registration Link
Within 24 hours of submission (and pending a successful quality check from Hohonu), the real-data will be publicly available for access through Hohonu’s apps.
Immediately after your device is registered, you will be able to view and download the real-time data in a few different ways
<aside> 💡 For the first 35 days, only “d2w” (distance to water) measurements will be available (NAVD88 will be available if a survey was conducted)
